Industry Advisory Board

Overview
The Industry Advisory Board (IAB) is comprised of data professionals from businesses across Kansas to better inform KDSC curriculum, create data projects, and steer annual conferences. The collaboration between the KDSC and IAB will contribute to a highly skilled workforce and practical data science education.
IAB Members meet twice per calendar year, with hybrid flexibility, to discuss learning outcomes for students, current industry needs, data projects, and more. IAB Members are also invited to participate in a panel discussion at the annual Kansas Data Science Conference. Below is a list of the expected contributions and benefits:
Contributions from IAB Members:
- Contribute meaningful feedback on data science curriculum objectives
- Provide data projects for the Community Data Labs program
- Attend KDSC conferences and, for some, participate in a panel discussion about data science in your field
- Work with KDSC staff to promote internship opportunities to data science students
Benefits to IAB Members:
- Ability to shape workforce training to benefit your organization
